Job Description

The Role

AECOM’s Program, Cost Consultancy team has an opportunity for a Principal Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our successful team based in Sydney.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Be responsible for providing quantity surveying and cost management services on some of Sydney and Australia’s largest and most iconic vertical and horizontal infrastructure projects.

  • Assist with the development of cost planning and estimating (design phase), measurement of quantities based on design drawings, cash flow forecasting, construction phase cost management, capital cost advice and life-cycle costing.

  • Collaborate with AECOM’s quantity surveyors and multi-disciplinary engineers both locally and nationally on a wide range of projects depending on your experience.

  • Use your extensive experience to provide high-quality technical advice to clients and assist in the professional development of junior members within the team by providing them with mentoring.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Exposure as a Senior QS, ideally in a consulting environment, with knowledge of Australian standards within the Health, Community and Civil Infrastructure and/or Industry sectors.

  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline-driven team environment.

  • Relevant tertiary education alongside RPEQ, AIQS, RICS or recognised equivalent.

  • Proven and demonstrated skills in managing project costs and budgets ideally in a client-facing role (not essential)

  • Working knowledge of the full MS Suite alongside medium to high level knowledge of CostX
