We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate Director of Sales to join our team at Australia’s largest hotel. This role will be based in Melbourne.
Located adjacent to Darling Harbour in Sydney's Central Business District, Hyatt Regency Sydney is a haven of relaxation for the business or leisure traveller. As Sydney's largest premium hotel, the hotel boasts 878 guestrooms, multiple dining experiences and event spaces. The hotel offers more than 3,700 sq m of sleek meeting and event space in the heart of the city featuring two spacious ballrooms with views of Darling Harbour and 22 additional meeting rooms.
About the Role:
The Associate Director of Sales will assist in the supervision, growth and support of our Sales team. As the Associate Director of Sales, you are tasked with maximising total revenue potential for property and ensuring we have acustomer lead strategy at all times.
Main Responsibilities:
Connect with a wide range of clients using a variety of communication channels
Management of a portfolio of top clients
Entertaining clients with famils, and site inspections
Assist with the collation of statistics and data
Demonstrate a proactive approach to sales and be a dynamic sales professional who will positively impact our business and clearly understand the Hyatt Regency brand
Manage strong relationships with senior decision-makers from key leisure, PCO's, corporate accounts and travel agents
Building and maintaining strong relationships across internal and external clients, and other market and industry sources
To measure, interpret, prioritise and evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition activities and to re-evaluate programs on an ongoing basis so as to achieve/exceed the objectives as outlined in the Annual Business Plan.
Coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values.
Assist in the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the sales department to include, but not limited, to the annual and monthly forecast, marketing budget, lead management system, booking report, star reports and sales meeting minutes
Participate in ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.
Manage your accounts ensuring pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
Travel as needed to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition.
Represent hotel at trade shows as requested by the DOS- Events.
To be Successful:
Excellent communication skills and professional acumen
Proven experience developing strategic plans in line with property strategy
Good understanding of selling techniques and marketing approaches
Minimum of 3 years' experience within a 5-star environment
A self-starter who is highly driven and solutions-orientated
Experience with Opera is highly desirable
Experience working in large diverse teams
Demonstrated time management skills
