Sorting Machine Operator

We seek a Sorting Machine Operator who understands the proper use of various precision measuring instruments. You will oversee and assist with hand sorting, perform all record-keeping responsibilities, and understand the process for entering stock into inventory. You will train automatic inspection personnel, hand sort personnel, and some material handling staff. Additionally, you will process and propose disposition of inspected and rejected products, schedule department workloads, communicate overtime requirements, and work closely with the Plant Controller on load analysis and action plans. Maintaining low past-due work order hours and keeping open orders at less than 30 days backlog are critical for this role. Effective communication with both internal and external individuals is essential.

We have 2 positions available: 1 on 1st shift and 1 on 2nd shift. 1st shift hours are flexible from 6am-2:30pm, with some starting at 4am. 2nd shift runs from 2:30pm-11pm, also with flexible scheduling. Overtime is currently not required but may be needed in the future. Pay ranges from $18-$23 per hour, with potential for $23.50 and a $1.25 shift differential. The environment lacks air conditioning, but doors are typically left open for airflow, and fans are placed throughout the facility. Expect to get grease on your fingers and clothes due to manual machine operations. The factory environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, oil, and smoke.
