JOBTITLE: General Laborer SUPERVISOR: Project Foreman WORK SCHEDULE: Full Time / Occasional prolonged hours depending on project.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites for day to day construction operations. Unloads and loads materials, tends machines, mixes concrete, pours concrete, and assists carpenters, foremen, and other construction site workers. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Highly disciplined with a great ability to follow instructions Excellent physical strength and stamina Well organized and with the ability to show initiative Willing to work and stay out of town for construction projects Capable of bending, lifting and carrying up to 80lbs Load and unload construction materials used on projects Dig trenches, backfill holes, shovel or muck concrete Use walk behind compaction equipment to prepare for concrete or asphalt Able to carry and set concrete forms using sledgehammers weighing 8-16lbs. Strip, clean and stack various sizes of concrete forms weighing up to 100lbs. Climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints Able to operate 60-90lb jackhammers for long periods of time Able to work individually and as part of a team Able to operate a variety of power tools Able to maintain construction equipment on job sites Understand and use company safety policies and procedures MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Have a basic understanding of structure and concrete work Assist onsite supervisor or foreman on jobsites QUALIFICATIONS Possess a positive attitude and willingness to learn Willing to know and understand safety policies Familiar with construction operations, tools, materials, and equipment Possess a driver's license.
