Meta Reliability Engineer in Suzhou, China

Summary:

As a reliability engineer at Oculus, you will take a critical role in bringing reliable virtual reality to our customers and the world. You will contribute to all aspects of the product lifecycle from proof of concept to mass production. You will be responsible for the oversight of testing at a variety of manufacturers in APAC, ensuring high quality results and timeliness. You will be responsible for producing accurate reliability analysis and failure analysis in a timely manner. We are looking for someone who can wear multiple hats depending on the task at hand. The ideal candidate has a "can do" attitude with a strong background in reliability engineering, high attention to detail, thirst for knowledge, and an inherent interest in all aspects of engineering.

Required Skills:

Reliability Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee reliability testing and analysis through product lifecycle

  2. Participate evaluation of vendor reliability capability including facilities and manpower to help vendor selection

  3. Lead set up vendor reliability team and lab for program, include but not limited to: make REL expectation to vendor, define equipment/manpower requirement, define report template and issue tracker, etc.

  4. Work with vendor reliability labs to insure the lab readiness of equipment, fixture, setup, calibration, and human resource etc.

  5. Audit reliability labs to insure testing execution, schedule, and reporting is appropriately and correctly

  6. Onsite support and help solve/mitigate execution related problems (such as fixture mismatch, resource restriction, schedule delay)

  7. Lead initial failure analysis on reliability issues and assist root cause analysis with XFN • Participate reliability specification development and justification

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent discipline

  2. At least 3+ years of experience in reliability engineering

  3. Experience developing and performing reliability tests including (but not limited to) mechanical, shock, vibration, environmental, and characterization testing

  4. Kowledgeable of failure analysis techniques including (not not limited to) optical microscopy, X-Ray, CT scan, SEM, EDX, and FTIR

  5. Fundamentally strong knowledge of mechanical design, material science, and failure mechanisms of consumer electronics

  6. Timely execution of tasks to meet critical deadlines

  7. Knowledgeable of industry test standards including ASTM, MIL, JEDEC, and IEEE

  8. Ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail

  9. Travel between Shanghai and Shenzhen regions
