LMI Technologies Global Account Manager - APAC in Suzhou/Shanghai/Shenzhen/Remote, China

Are you looking for the opportunity to use your technical sales and relationship building skills to contribute to the growth of one of the leading 3D sensors companies? Working closely with and reporting directly to Territory Sales Manager,  will be responsible for developing new business and creating sales opportunities while developing the LMI brand. With a primary focus on new account development, your role will include working with existing key accounts where you will expand and strengthen our position in our market place within your territory.  You will have the opportunity to collaborate with others in our international sales team to learn about how our technology is utilized and sold into various applications, and how it is brought to market through our Applications group.

 

What will you do as a  Global Account Manager - APAC ?

Reporting directly to the Regional Development Manager of APAC, the candidate will be responsible for growing LMI’s revenue base by initiating, cultivating and closing long-term business relationships with larger companies who require support on a global scale.  The Global Account Manager (GAM) will work with the local Territory Sales Leaders and Key Account Managers to identify larger prospects within the APAC region. 

The Global Account Manager will also work closely with Product Management and the FAE team within APAC in order to fully determine the technical needs of larger accounts and to better specify custom products if/when needed.  When prospecting within any given territory it is essential that the GAM notify the local Territory Sales Leaders or Key Account Managers of his/her activity in order to avoid conflicts with our distribution partners to the extent possible.

In addition to the GAM role, the individual in this position may also be given a territory for which their primary role will be distribution channel management.  In this role, the primary objective is to support your distribution partners with training and product knowledge, such that they can successfully grow the Gocator business within their area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieve sales quotas in territory assigned - (If applicable).

  • Develop and maintain a list of prospective global accounts.  These could be either large OEMs or SIs who have significant annual demand for optical sensors.

  • Foster relationships with prospective global accounts to determine their specific needs and demand for sensors.

  • Work with the FAE team, Product and Sales Management in order to help define a custom sensor program if needed.

  • Sign long term supply agreements with global accounts that will add significantly to the revenue base of the APAC region. 

  • Actively work new opportunities from initial creation to final outcome; updating the CRM system with current information throughout this process.

  • Create reports to corporate management as needed to help them identify markets where large customers have needs which are not adequately addressed by the existing LMI product line.

  • Manage any EOL (end-of-life) issues with the customer base and related transition to replacement products and platforms.

  • Continuously maintain knowledge of LMI products and expertise to take advantage of potential new opportunities with the customer base.

  • Explore opportunities to add value to the overall growth plans of LMI.​

  • Evaluate overall current trends, competitive activity, economic factors and changes in the market segments and translate that knowledge into definitive and actionable plans and forecasts to build profitable growth.

  • Manage distributor relationship for territory covered by channel partners.  Provide technical and sales training as needed.

  • Work with Territory Sales Leaders and Key Account Managers in other regions to identify prospects and to minimize conflict with existing channel partners.

    Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintain knowledge of the Gocator product line and its common applications.

  • Provide sales forecast information as requested.

  • Investigate new market verticals by exploring various trade shows and other means.

    What do you need to be successful?

  • Minimum of 7 years of direct sales, distribution and account management experience in consumer electronics manufacturing industry, with 3D machine vision and product sales experience.

  • Engineering or Bachelor of Business Degree or equivalent training and experience.

  • Working knowledge of 3D machine vision and related products.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English combined with strong computer skills.

  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal and prioritization skills.

  • Self-motivated and results oriented approach to business.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

  • Must be self motivated, outgoing and possess a positive attitude.
