Robert Half Systems Administrator in Sussex, Wisconsin

Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our clients dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and a proven track record of maintaining, configuring, and protecting computer systems, servers, and networks. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting problems, implementing new technologies, and providing training to employees.

This is 100% ONSITE located in Sussex, WI. Please do not apply if not able to commit to 5-days onsite.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize IT infrastructure, including networks, operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.

  • Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications for IT projects.

  • Perform server administration tasks, including managing user/group permissions, security policies, group policies, and print services.

  • Set up and configure new systems, ensuring they meet organizational needs and are integrated seamlessly into the existing IT environment.

  • Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures, developing test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of IT systems.

  • Provide comprehensive documentation of IT processes and procedures, and deliver training to employees as needed.

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor system health, gather system statistics, and troubleshoot reported errors, alarms, and issues promptly.

  • Design, implement, and upgrade information systems to align with evolving business requirements and user needs.

  • Maintain and enforce company confidentiality and security standards to protect sensitive information and prevent cyber attacks.

  • Manage regular backup operations, establishing appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.

  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved promptly and efficiently.

  • Document and train employees on the processes they need to follow to successfully work with organizational systems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT role.

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networking, and security.

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux operating systems.

  • Familiarity with network protocols, such as TCP/IP and DHCP.

  • Knowledge of server administration tasks, including user/group permissions, security policies, group policies, and print services.

  • Experience with system configuration and deployment tools.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

    Requirements - 5+ years of related experience

  • Proficient in crafting, analyzing and fixing large-scale distributed systems

  • Network operating systems knowledge - as well as knowledge of programming or scripting language - is highly valued

  • Practical knowledge of Group Policy

  • Quality experience with configuration management

  • Earlier work involving Microsoft Azure

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365

  • Active Directory experience

  • Wide ranging experience with policies & procedures

  • Proven knowledge of Ticketing System

  • Comprehension of System Backups

  • Previous experience working with IT audits

  • Firewall Configuration experience preferred

  • Strong familiarity with Firewall administration

  • General familiarity with Permissions

  • Well-founded grasp of Server Administration

  • Skills in Basic Troubleshooting

  • Firewall deployment experience

  • Good understanding of Tape Backup

  • Experience in high bandwidth HTTP traffic, content delivery and caching
