The Salvation Army Northwest Valley Corps is looking to fill a fulltime cook position. The successful candidate for this position will have previous professional cooking experience, have good time management and organizational skills. This position is benefit eligible and comes with vacation, sick, health, vision, life insurance, free membership and more.
The Cook will plan, shop for an prepare meals for youth, senior and Corps/Church programs as requested using nutritional guidelines given by general guidelines for nutrition. This person will keep all kitchen supplies purchased, replenished and organized. This position will keep the kitchen, equipment, dishes clean and launder towels and linens as necessary. This position will keep statistics for programs, lead and work with volunteers and assist other areas of the corps as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma
Must be 21 years or older.
Valid driver’s license
Obtain a Food Handlers Management card if not already secured.
Ability to incorporate time management skills and be able to work independently
Be organized and detail oriented.
Verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of kitchen appliances and equipment
Must pass a criminal background check.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
