Job Description:

Head Start is seeking employees to join a fun work atmosphere in our family oriented program!!

Full-time Teacher needed for the Superior Head Start for the 2024-2025 school year. Start date would be in August of 2024.

Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required. Applicants with a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and a teaching certificate preferred.

Wage: $41,161 Bachelor/Master Degree Teachers

Wage: $19.28/hr Associate Degree Teachers

Full-time, salary position; includes benefits, paid time off, 401K, and training opportunities are available.

The Teacher is responsible for the education of children and management of the classroom environment to implement the goals of the Head Start Program, in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards. Teachers must be able to become partners with parents by involving them in the educational development of their children. The Teacher is responsible for promoting a team environment, and working effectively with Specialists, Area Coordinators, Para-Professionals, volunteers,parents, and other employees.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assess the developmental level of each child in the class relying upon parental input, classroom observation and the results of screening and testing.
  • Refer any children who may have developmental and/or behavioral delays to the Early Childhood Specialist and other appropriate Specialists.
  • Complete 2 home visits and 2 parent teacher conferences with parents. Complete required paperwork that is associated with the home visits and conferences.
  • Enter GOLD observations resulting in a minimum of one anecdote per child per item each period.
  • Supervise Assistant Teachers and Para-Professionals including assigning work tasks, ensuring appropriate interactions with children, completing performance appraisals, approving PTO request and addressing performance concerns. Complete staff documentation as needed.
