Description
Ring is hiring a Software Engineer II to work on Ring's critical Gateways Service.
Ring Gateways is a mission critical service which is entry point for apps and devices to the ring cloud service ecosystem. The service processes millions of requests per day. The team's challenges are availability, latency and critical process resilience. The team partners with all the Firmware teams, Ring App team and Cloud Services being the connectivity layer between the two.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to innovate and deliver high-performing and stable socket connectivity service. In this role, you will:
Collaborate with other firmware and cloud software teams to design and deliver new features for existing and new Ring devices
Design, develop and enhance Ring Gateways Services
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the production environment reported by QA and customers
Help maintain code quality, organization and automation
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
