Alexa Food is seeking a talented and passionate Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join our innovative team. You will play a pivotal role in designing and developing cutting-edge solutions that enhance the Alexa experience for millions of customers worldwide.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Architect, design, and develop scalable, high-performance software applications and services for Alexa Food.

  • Innovation: Drive innovation by collaborating with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and implement new features and improvements.

  • Problem Solving: Analyze and solve complex problems, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our systems.

  • Best Practices: Implement and advocate for software engineering best practices including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.

  • Customer Focus: Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality software solutions.

About the team

Alexa Food is a dynamic and innovative team within Amazon, dedicated to enhancing the Alexa experience in the Food domain. Our mission is to create seamless and intuitive interactions that help users with their food-related tasks, from discovering new recipes to managing grocery lists and obtaining nutritional information.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
