As part of the Worldwide organization, the Service EPS role supports NPI and Sustains product configuration globally across many product lines, ensuring the development and accurate BOM setup of parts and attributes. The role works cross-functionally with Readiness PM, Quality Engineering, Planning, factory BOM readiness, Project teams, and many other partners. The engineering product specialist manages the parts strategy readiness process and tasks for new products before introduction/announcement, as well as for sustaining product changes to service strategy.
Description
The role will be to deconstruct FG BOMs and translate them into a reconstructed bill of material. Design BOMs and support analysis to figure out lowest cost, ease of assembly or field replacement, and ease of supply requirements. The role requires engineering principles to develop a bill of material information and ensure the supply of necessary data, coding, and attribute information to populate multiple systems and setups globally. This includes part and BOM development, product/part offerings, warehouse receiving, fraud protection, compliance, and projects. The role builds, tracks, and routes ECRs, ECOs, and MCOs within an Agile environment. This role requires critical thinking when approaching problem-solving to drive rapid resolution to escalations related to areas of responsibility, minimizing customer impact, and enabling smooth supply chain operations. The role is a critical team member in various projects involving Material Data Management to review material setup within the transaction systems and perform updates based on regional strategy changes, audits, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with other departments and regional contacts to investigate and resolve regional compliance requirements that impact service product setup. Develop and maintain product compliance-related procedures to ensure uniformity and consistency in the product setup.
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent writing and communication skills
BOM structuring and engineering-related principles, practices, and procedures
Effective at working independently as part of larger, cross-functional teams with little formal guidance
Takes initiative to investigate and resolve complex BOM setup and strategy support issues
Flexible to handle directional changes and proficient at leading multiple projects at once
Performs well in a fast paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment
Approaches problem-solving with an analytical lens; must be able to analyze issues, including large data sets, to resolve root causes and recommend solutions
Ability to quickly identify trends and then document, investigate, escalate, track, and resolve issues
Ability to stay current with the latest processes, procedures, and technology
Project management skills, organized, including the ability to establish project plans, track open issues, communicate project updates, and manage deadlines independently
Skilled in SAP, Agile, Excel (Tableau +)
BA or BS degree or five years of equivalent experience

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,200 and $209,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
