Apple’s Vision Products Group (VPG) is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a passion for architecting and shipping native system and application frameworks on Apple platforms. Your work will meaningfully impact the lives of our users through highly immersive applications that leverage both on-device and hosted integrations of traditional algorithmic models and generative AI. Description

We collaborate closely with Apple's Design, Engineering and Research teams to define and develop high-impact applications across Apple platforms. We are looking for a highly skilled engineer comfortable working in a dynamic and creative team environment, tasked with exploring uncharted and rapidly evolving domains. In this role, you will research and develop entirely new application paradigms, demanding rapid experimentation and prototyping without compromising code quality or attention to detail. You will be responsible for architecting, hardening, and shipping native system and applications and application frameworks that integrate both traditional algorithmic models and generative AI models into our application stacks. Your work will involve deep integration with technologies such as SwiftUI, RealityKit, UIKit, and ARKit, as well as a wide array of internal frameworks and services. As a driving force behind the application experience, your contributions will empower our users and shape the course of Apple’s products for years to come. Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of extensive experience in architecting, hardening, and shipping native system and application frameworks on Apple platforms
Proven experience integrating traditional algorithmic models and generative AI models into application stacks and frameworks
Strong command of object-oriented programming (Swift / Objective-C / C / C++ preferred)
Deep understanding of application software design principles
Demonstrated expertise and independence in building and shipping high-quality software
Proficient with on-device and hosted AI model integrations
Strong experience with SwiftUI, RealityKit, UIKit, and ARKit
Strong knowledge of UI animations in UIKit or SwiftUI
Experience with comprehensive unit testing using XCTest
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Enthusiastic about working on a cross-functional team
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Familiarity with machine learning frameworks CoreML and MLX or other opens source options
Experience with integrating cloud-based services and APIs
Knowledge of computer vision applications in AR/VR environments
Ability to think creatively and solve challenging problems in the AR/VR space

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $207,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
