The AppleCare Business Insight, Operations and Systems (ACBIOS) team is seeking an innovative and passionate Support Insight Data Scientist who will be responsible for deriving insights into the software quality of Apple's products. This is an exciting opportunity to directly impact our customers' experience and support Apple products throughout their life cycle.
Description
The Core Functions of this role are as follows: Craft and implement natural language-based machine learning models, establish algorithms, and build analytic tools to identify anomalies in metrics related to software field performance and product quality, while gaining a deep understanding of why customers contact Apple for support. Use the output from those tools and models to help teams around Apple deep-dive into the root-cause of similar contacts and understand what product and software improvements are priorities to address and better solve customer’s problems. Other Key Functions of this role include: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to establish collaboration relationships, find business opportunities, develop performance indicators, and communicate complex data analyses. Build and refine anomaly detection tools and algorithms for unstructured text data, improving our ability to identify and respond earlier to emerging signals in our customer contact data. Rapidly research, experiment, and implement state of the art technologies and methods in data science, data engineering, and data visualization to quickly elevate the technical proficiency and innovation of our team. Construct and maintain dashboards and self-service tools, facilitating effective data analysis and insights sharing. Handle large, complex data sets with super-computing and use advanced analytics to tackle challenging problems.
Minimum Qualifications
MA or MS degree in statistical analysis, computer science, data science, or related field.
3+ years experience in deploying data science, machine learning, or anomaly detection techniques to solve practical business problems.
Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex data science concepts understandable to non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in SQL, preferably in Snowflake.
Experience with anomaly and outlier detection methods and algorithms.
Strong programming skills in Python with experience using packages such as Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn.
Experience in quantitative data analysis, possessing a strong ability to conduct in-depth evaluations of complex issues.
Have a creative approach to engineer innovative features and signals into analytical solutions, pushing the boundaries of current tools and methodologies.
Experience leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate, refine, evaluate, and analyze text data for practical applications

Experience with Graph Databases.
Demonstrated ability to implement, improve, debug, and maintain machine learning models.
Experience with super-computing solutions like PySpark or Bodo.
Experience with front end libraries such as React or Streamlit.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $136,300 and $205,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
