Amazon's Traffic Engineering organization builds innovative managed compute and networking solutions that empower Amazon Software Engineers to build and operate services for Amazon’s customers that are secure, highly available, and easy to scale. Traffic Engineering is making significant investments in edge computing, as we believe it will revolutionize the way our store builders and customers interact with our platform. By bringing compute, storage, and data processing closer to the source of the data, edge computing will enable faster, more responsive, and more reliable experiences for our customers and sellers, ultimately driving greater engagement and satisfaction.

As the Principal Product Manager - Technical for Edge Compute Services, you will have the unique opportunity to define the product strategy and roadmap for these cutting-edge solutions. In this high-visibility role you'll enjoy exceptional autonomy and the freedom to shape the strategic direction of the product, make key decisions, and drive execution across the entire lifecycle. You'll work on technically sophisticated, mission-critical systems that power Amazon's vast ecosystem, leaving a lasting mark on the company and its customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Identify emerging trends, customer pain points, and opportunities in the edge computing landscape.

  • Define the long-term product vision and strategy for Edge Compute services, aligning with the overall Amazon Stores' business objectives and technology roadmap.

  • Develop a comprehensive product roadmap that prioritizes initiatives based on technical feasibility considering Amazon's complex distributed graph of services, and business impact for Amazon customers.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to translate the product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and technical specifications, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality, customer-centric features.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements

  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
