Meta Firmware Engineer in Sunnyvale, California

Required Skills:

Firmware Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Take ownership of system design and firmware on hardware prototypes and development platforms.

  2. Use end-to-system firmware development to include initial bring-up and driver development on bare-metal/RTOS/Linux platforms.

  3. Develop robust processes for validating hardware and system integration.

  4. Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot hardware issues.

  5. Collaborate in a team environment across multiple, product focused, research, and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver firmware solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Computer Science, Computer Software, Electrical Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Analytics, Physics, or related field and three years of work experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:

  2. Driver and board-level system software development

  3. Board bring up and systems debugging

  4. ARM based processors, microcontrollers and various communications protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, or I2S)

  5. Debugging tools including bus analyzers and oscilloscopes

  6. Protocol design, specification, and implementation

  7. Debugging and problem solving in code bases and environments

  8. Implementing firmware for low-power custom SoCs and tape-out of chips in the past

  9. Prototyping on pre-silicon environments (FPGAs, simulation, or emulation)

  10. Working with and developing for capacitive sensors in consumer electronics

  11. Bootloader development experience in UEFI environment.

Public Compensation:

$258,524/year to $290,180/year + bonus + equity + benefits
