Job Type: Full-time with overtime

Experience: Minimum 5 years

Reports to: Shop Manager, no supervisory responsibility

Wage: $25-35 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Job Summary:

The shop welder/fabricator will design and fabricate products from blueprints or drawings and effectively operate common hand tools in the repair of crushing spread equipment, mobile machinery, concrete plant, and paving equipment. Experience diversity in creating and fabricating new projects every day.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Basic mechanical experience in torching and grinding.

  • Fabricate structural products (i.e. fillet welding, perpendicular shear plates, penetration welds) without supervision.

  • Plan and estimate needed materials to complete the project.

  • Design and fabricate products from blueprints or drawings.

  • Understand and utilize proper lifting and rigging techniques.

  • Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.

  • Be proficient with stick, mig, dual shield, tig, and aluminum welding procedures.

  • Proficient in all welding positions.

  • Be proficient with cutting procedures such as air arc, plasma cutting, flame cutting, and lancing.

  • Be able to lay out and fit material.

  • Minimum 5 years experience and knowledge of general construction, welding, and operating equipment.

  • Personal protective equipment is required.

  • Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.

  • Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.

  • A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.

  • Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.

  • Overnight travel is not standard.
