Eaton Corporation Senior Production Associate - Panelboard Assembly, 2nd Shift in Sumter, South Carolina

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Production Associate - Panelboard Assembly, 2nd Shift. The hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm . The rate for this position is $17.00 per hour plus a $.60 per hour shift differential. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. In the Senior Production Associate role, you will work with the Supervisor to drive results on key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and productivity in the absence of the Team Leader. You will provide leadership by promoting teamwork, training others, and providing proactive resolution to production needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• You will promote a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by proactively addressing and resolving concerns, and escalating issues to your supervisor as appropriate.

• You will assist the Team Leader/Supervisor in working with the manufacturing team to ensure that customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner and that the most urgent orders are fulfilled first.

• You will review orders and associated documentation (drawings, travel documents, bills of material) as needed to ensure the team has the appropriate information to complete the job and to assist with troubleshooting problems with the order documentation.

• You will communicate professionally to provide updates on the status of specific orders, resolve issues with production, and promote teamwork across departments.

• You will assist the Team Leader/Supervisor in the assessment, selection, training, and development of employees as the technical subject matter expert. You will ensure a flexible workforce through cross-training in critical positions.

• You will delegate tasks and align resources as appropriate to meet production goals including the flexibility to work in a production associate capacity in any role on the line due to absenteeism/leaves of absence.

• You will work with the team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and drive assigned projects to completion.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or operations experience.

• Minimum 1 year of assembly experience

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Sumter facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Computer literate.

• Working knowledge of Lean concepts.

• Some experience in Panelboard assembly operation, or assembly requiring drawings or diagrams.

• Ability to read and comprehend front views, one-line diagrams, bills of material, and pick sheets.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Expected to work with some degree of independence and make decisions that affect the workgroup. Focus efforts on attaining assigned goals and objectives, which include meeting the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to noise and frequently exposed to dust.
