About this Role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a senior Software Engineer to join Consumer Technology (CT). The Wells Fargo Consumer Technology Head of Data has been tasked with transforming and modernizing operational and analytic data across Consumer Lending. The mission for CT Data is to implement best in class engineered technologies and best practices that are Agile-minded, commercially structured, compliance-oriented, and focused on the rapid delivery of high-quality, safe products and services which are consumable at scale across Consumer Lending lines of business.
The Senior Software Engineer - Java Micro Services role will be responsible for providing technical leadership for the data engineering team, for the solution designing of Domain-driven design (DDD) and microservice design and implementation driving and accelerating Data and Analytics Strategy & Roadmap across Consumer Lending.
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Partner with Enterprise data teams and Line of Business partners on customer-centric view of the data, data reuse, and data consistency across all customer interactions
Collaborate with Enterprise Data organization on supplying and governing Consumer Lending data going into the Enterprise Data Lake
Establish processes and tools to support consistency, lineage, collection, processing, sharing, and organization of data across entire Consumer Lending portfolio
Introduce and propagate modern Engineering practices around Data including automation of data-related processes
Experience driving significant maturity improvements in low-maturity technology environments - experience consulting teams, collaborating across enterprise to mature technology solutions, delivering modern capabilities, and/or delivering in Agile environment.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience designing and developing Java applications
2+ years of Microservices development experience
Desired Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or relevant field
Experience designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical business systems / application services and modules
2+ years of financial services experience
1+ years of experience working with Mongo DB
Production implementation experience with Spring/Spring boot
Production experience in one of the cloud environment, MongoDB, Kubernetes environment
Hands on with Maven build scripts/ Curie moving to Git Hub
3+ years of experience with Agile practices
3+ years' experience with Data architecture, design, and management
