Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Junior Process Engineer for an Onsite Position at a Lake Charles Area Client Facility.

Position Type: Full-time

Location: Sulphur, LA

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Office/Sedentary, Plant

Travel Requirements : Occasional site visits required

Essential Functions:

  • Seeking a Junior Process Engineer to work at a Client Facility in the Lake Charles Area to assist with developing front-end engineering packages for project development activities.

  • Participate within a technical team environment supporting capital projects and developing process design basis on FEL Stages.

  • Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and other tasks using prescribed methods and procedures to generate functional and practical solutions across a wide variety of production improvement needs including unit stability, extended equipment life, optimization, debottlenecking, capacity increase, and process safety compliance.

  • Prepare equipment specifications detailing performance requirements, design data, applicable codes/standards, and vendor drawing requirements.

  • Run simulations to model process variables and yield sizing basis for equipment, piping, controls, and safe operating conditions.

  • Prepare Block Diagrams, PFDs, and P&IDs to represent the design scope.

  • Obtain equipment specification technical data and pricing of major components to include in the process design basis.

  • Review the environmental and safety impact of changes to existing processes.

  • Participate in PHA and Functional Safety Assessment Evaluations.

  • Be a proactive team member in leading project development activities to represent the interests of all the project stakeholders.

  • Follow best work practices, client standards, and relevant industry design codes.

    Requirements:

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • 0-3 years of engineering-related experience in the oil, gas, or chemical manufacturing industry.

  • Skills using process simulation systems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.

    Experience Preferred:

  • EIT credentials helpful.

  • Background from internship working onsite at a refinery.
