Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff LESSONS LEARNED ANALYST (OPERATIONS COORDINATOR) in Suffolk, Virginia

Summary This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for the advisory, planning, development, and execution of agency program operations, procedures, goals, and related missions. The Incumbent evaluates and uses analytical methods and techniques to facilitate the processes of management and the organization of work for the overall mission. . Responsibilities As a LESSONS LEARNED ANALYST (OPERATIONS COORDINATOR) at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the principal advisor and consultant to the JLLD Division Chief with respect to analytical standards and tools in support of the Chairman's Lessons Learned Program to facilitate situational understanding of and interface with the Joint Force Development environment as it pertains to JLLD's work; Assists the Division Chief by serving as the advisor on both technical and administrative matters relating to the accomplishment, coordination and disposition of a variety of substantive issue resolution, integration and dissemination staff actions and assignments; i.e., formatting/editing of written products; preparing for and scheduling of working groups, and filing structure for products stored on the portal or other mediums; integrates staff actions with the Division to facilitate effective management and ensure resources are used properly and that there is no duplication of effort. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Applies knowledge of the Lessons Learned Program to carry out analytical research and projects related to a variety of subjects pertaining to the Lessons Learned program; Utilizes policies, regulations, precedents pertinent to the organizations mission, roles and functions of the Joint Staff and other agencies to carry out the assigned and administrative and management planning functions ensuring regulatory compliance; Develops guidance and information on controversial project related management issues using Joint Lessons Learned Information System, CJCS Lessons Learned Program, and initiative; JLLD (Joint Lessons Learned Directorate) mission to respond to inquiries concerning activities of the organization and the ability to apply management and organizational practices; Serves as the principal management advisor and effectively coordinate the interface between the division and the directorate utilizing a wide range of management and administrative actions, processes, principles, practices, theories, techniques and quantifiable methods for the evaluation and development of program effectiveness. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
