This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. What You’ll Work On

• Develop, implement, and manage plant safety programs

• Keep informed on current environmental, health, safety and security regulations and legislation and recommend policy changes

• Implement and manage Abbott global technical standards

• Conduct risk assessments

• Develop and conduct/coordinate EHS trainings

• Maintain files and records pertaining to safety and security

• Conduct site regulatory inspections

• Assist with accident/incident investigations and corrective actions

• Conduct frequent EHS tours/audits of all plant areas and make recommendations for corrective actions for environmental, safety and health concerns

• Review the installation and modification of all equipment/processes for EHS concerns

• Assist management in preparing a variety of EHS presentations

• Assist with Food Defense Program

• Assist in managing capital funded projects pertaining to EHS and Security

• Manage safety and security systems; inspections and repairs

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or Environmental or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety

• Working knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e., OSHA, EPA)

Preferred Qualification

• Manufacturing plant experience is preferred

• OSHA 30-hour training course

• Program management skills, including proven ability to deliver thorough and timely solutions to issues and initiatives

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00 – $114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
