Cleveland Clinic Lead Radiology Technologist in Stuart, Florida

As a Lead Radiology Technologist, you will promote a positive team experience and work directly with our community by providing excellent care. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Performing Radiology exams and Fluoroscopic procedures on patients of all ages while maintaining patient safety.

  • Scheduling routine preventative maintenance on equipment.

  • Training, counseling, and evaluating performance of employees.

  • Scheduling work assignments and preparing the master schedule.

Responsibilities:

*Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, supervises and coordinates work activities of assigned personnel.

*Schedules work assignments and prepares master schedule.

*May perform payroll time sheet for employees.

*Trains, counsels, disciplines, and evaluates performance of employees.

*Assists with interviewing applicants and recommends selection.

*Maintains procedure manual and communicates changes to staff.

*Assists with all policies and procedures required by local, state, or federal law.

*Assists with compliance or credentialing bodies (ACR, MQSA, Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, etc.).

*Assists with instrument calibration and records to ensure compliance with quality assurance requirements.

*Ensures and maintains quality control in regards to patient care and equipment usage.

*Ensures quality assurance tests are performed daily/weekly and all policies and procedures are adhered to.

*Provides technical direction with complex cases and problem solving.

*Schedules routine preventative maintenance on equipment to meet safety and regulatory standards.

*Instructs other area personnel in Radiation Protection, as needed, and ensures their safety.

*Performs general radiology, portable, and fluoroscopic procedures (GIs, GUs, pediatrics, arthrograms, spine center).

*Produces images of optimal quality for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.

*Maintains documentation requirements to ensure that all technical data is entered timely and accurately.

*Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.

*Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam. May assist with scheduling of patients as needed.

*Demonstrates the care and operation of Radiology equipment according to technical specifications and applications.

*Notifies management and takes proper action to address equipment malfunctions.

*Assists Radiologist with fluoroscopic, GU, GI, and pediatric procedures.

*Monitors all appointments scheduled for examinations; performs preliminary research on patient when preparations are not provided; determines priority of patients based on the daily schedules.

*Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, transmitting, and printing images via PACS, when applicable, knowledgeable in after hours transmission of images and appropriate paperwork - immediately reports any malfunctions to help desk and PACS Administrator.

*Knowledgeable in billing via RIS.

*Ensures exam rooms are adequately supplied with linen and related medical supplies.

*Participates in on-going training of technologists and students.

*Provides orientation of new employees and in-service education.

*Provides technical assistance to physicians, technologist and students.

*Reviews processed films/scans to determine quality and need for additional images.

*Continually strives to learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.

*May be required to rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations.

*Other duties as assigned.

Education:

*Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Certifications:

*Must be a Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), in good standing.

*Current state licensure (RL) required prior to employment.

*Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Complexity of Work:

*Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.

*Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

*Minimum 2 years recent modality experience.

*Ability to direct, evaluate and supervise others.

Physical Requirements:

*Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

*Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

*Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
