Ametek Inc. Technical Sales Manager in Streetsboro, Ohio

Your Impact: Micro-Poise Measurement Systems, a business unit of AMETEK, is a leading OEM supplier of capital test machinery to the worldwide automotive and tire industries located in Streetsboro, Ohio. Micro-Poise is currently seeking a Technical Sales Manager. The Technical Sales Manager will have direct sales and account management responsibilities for a region that includes North and South America. The selected individual will meet with clients to develop strong customer relationships, identify opportunities, and influence project specifications to win orders. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships while negotiating and closing deals.
  • Promote a product portfolio including new equipment, upgrades, planned maintenance programs and training services.
  • Work with Product Management to respond to technical specifications and prepare quotes.
  • Deliver value-focused sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals.
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM to generate routine reports, including forecasting, opportunity analysis, and account planning.
  • Sales channel support to maximize coverage of the market.
  • Market analysis to determine customer needs and new product justification, along with input on value and price targets.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
  • Provide input for sales materials and technical publications.
  • Assist with sales and advertising promotions.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 5+ years' experience with a technical background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to influence and interact effectively with people at all levels of an organization, internally and externally.
  • Able to work simultaneously on various multi-priority customer projects.
  • Prior international experience and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Understands capital equipment sales (long-term sales cycle and contracts for sales).
  • Computer skills, including Office Suite programs and Salesforce.
