Aerotek Steel Packager in Streetsboro, Ohio
Description:
2nd Shift Packager
Will work from 10am-6pm paid 20 minute lunch. (for training)
2nd Shift hours will be 2pm- 10:30pm Monday-Friday once they switch to 2nd shift (could be a few months before this happens)
Pay Rate: $18-$19 per hour
Typical day:
• Will be working in an industrial environment
• Will be on end of packaging line on their feet entire shift
• Will be packaging steel – will be banding large plates of steel it customer specifications
• Will be learning customer requirements per order- if it needs skidded wood runners- how many bands do they need- does it need waterproof paper etc
• Will be working with another packager
• Will be packaging – 50 – 100 bundles a day
• Will be working with steel plate / sheet that weighs 2,000 – 5,000 lbs a bundle
• Will be rolled to end of line – will lift each bundle and take them away when they’re done
• 99% of what they do is using plastic banding
• Will be reading work instructions and working with team lead
• Will be operating a stacker machine and loading coils and making skids
• Will be operating hand tools, nail gun and stapler
Will operate overhead crane & tow motor
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must have Steel toe boots
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must have tow motor experience
Must have experience using hand tools
PLUSSES:
Experience working in steel manufacturing environment
Overhead Cane experience
Packaging steel experience
