POSITION SUMMARY
The Level 2 NDT Inspector is responsible for operating non-destructive testing equipment in accordance with documented procedures. The position requires a level 2 certification in computed tomography test methods. Requires the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret, and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results in accordance with assigned procedures.
This is a first shift position, Monday-Thursday, 5:15am-3:15pm
Complementary Description
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNTIONS)
*Operate semi-automatic and manual radiographic test equipment to inspect, analyze, and record test results per documented procedures.
*Initiate requests for corrective action on observed conditions which do not conform to quality system requirements.
*Prepare and review quality records appropriate to inspection and test activities to assure legibility, completeness, and correctness of the information
*Required to follow procedures in the techniques for which certified
Assist in maintaining inspection records and other related documents ensuring accuracy of all documents
Regular maintenance of the inspection equipment
Occasional travel and overtime may be required, based on business needs
Other duties as assigned
The expected salary range for this position is between $25 - $35 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
Job Requirements
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred
Prior certification as an NDT Inspector in radiographic test methods strongly preferred
Five years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Must be able to meet the vision requirements of an NDT inspector
Ability to meet deadlines and to concentrate and pay attention to detail
Be a productive part of a manufacturing team, assisting in other areas as needed
Maintain accountability for the quality of the work product
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and due diligence in work at all times
Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with coworkers
Intermediate Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100D or ISO9001 standards preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
Lighting and temperature are adequate
Work requires: ability to sit regularly; stand/walk regularly; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; talk and hear; reach with hands and arms regularly
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, approximately 20% of a standard work day
Eye protection must be worn in in manufacturing areas, approximately 90% of a standard work day
Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment. Employee exposed to any number of elements but none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
