About the Role The Payroll Coordinator reports to the Payroll Supervisor at ACRT Services. This position will play a key role in Processing payroll. This position requires strong communication skills and a high level of attention to detail. What You'll Do Payroll Processing Processing of bi-weekly and weekly pay for various employee groups in strict accordance to union contracts, government wage and hour laws, and company policy Calculating regular pay, overtime (including weighted average) and annualized salaries Verifies and maintains pay records and leave balances Managing and processing combined payrolls and assisting managers, employees and senior leaders as appropriate Screens time cards and verifies accuracy of data weekly for reasonableness and consistency Communicates with supervisors to correct and fix time card issues Processes payroll using online input, desktop and third party web based applications Manually enters and edits documents as necessary Maintains payroll deductions in accordance with union contracts, Company policy and legal requirements Resolves complex payroll issues as necessary Provides customer service to employees and outside agencies Communicates technical and confidential information and responds to requests for clarification and interpretation of data Collaborate with HR and Benefits Team Calculates and prepares Off-cycle manually issued checks, gross to net Completes input documents to update employee year-to-date records Maintains accurate and organized files and records in compliance with Company policy and state and federal regulations Other duties as assigned About You Must haves: Education: High School Diploma Experience: 2 years of experience in payroll administration Nice to haves: Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: 5 years of experience in Organizational Development, employee training, or talent management with 1 year of experience using Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence modules Your Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft office, including Excel Proven knowledge of tax and wage laws Experience with California tax and wage laws a plus Exemplary communication and customer service skills Excellent work ethic and positive attitude High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and compliance Possesses strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines Ability to multi-task while remaining detail oriented This role would not be a good fit if: You don't enjoy working independently.
