Job Description:
The Medical Assistant functions as an important member of the healthcare team by providing basic clinical, clerical, and technical support to assist providers in planning for patients' care, comfort, and safety. The Medical Assistant performs in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic's mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Required Education: Documented successful completion of the following courses (or their recognized course equivalent) required:
-Medical Terminology
-Anatomy & Physiology or Body Structure & Function or Human Body in Health & Disease
-Pharmacology
Preferred Education : Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
EXPERIENCE
Preferred/Optional Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position, which must be maintained in good standing:
Required License/Certification: Medical Assistant certification/credential, or LPN or RN licensure in the State of Wisconsin, required within 6 months of employment in position. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
