Overview:
Ensure compliance with Safety regulations; communicate Safety information to Management and Employees; collaborate with the Management and Union to eliminate or lessen safety concerns; create and maintain required safety reports/logs and supervise Safety Coordinator.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Continually look for leading indicators of safety concerns, devise and implement improvements to avoid future incidents.
Coordinate and implement Corporate/Branch programs and initiatives
Perform audits of area zone and all other safety inspections
Develop safety training as needed
Revise safety programs as necessary
Provide training to Management or Employees when necessary
Present Safety statistics at Monthly Management Review meetings
Communication with and accept guidance from EHS contacts
Approve purchasing requisitions and monitor expenses to remain within budget
Investigate all work comp injuries
Complete required reporting of work comp injuries
Participate in Safety meetings
Supervise Safety Coordinator and provide back up when needed
Create and administer Safety training for new and current employees
Maintain PPE Inventory
Follow all related SJPs
Adhere to all Policies and Work Rules
Comply with all SSC Safety rules
All other duties as assigned
