The role of Launch Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of launch. The successful candidate is responsible for delivering departmental scorecard objectives pertaining to people, safety, quality, and flow; maintaining standardization while implementing continuous improvement actions while containing and communicating irregularities. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting a positive environment of culture, communication and employee recognition.

What you'll do...
Validate that the plant launch staffing plan and budget are sufficient to deliver a successful launch
Select and develop the plant launch organization
Ensure the training of hourly and salaried plant launch team members is on schedule
Manage the launch team by providing direction and leadership, prioritizing the day-to-day activities
Develop, manage, and deliver a plant launch timing plan, with GPDS milestones and deliverables
Lead the confidentiality process during the launch phase
Participate with ME and Ford Land on final layouts, detailed plans for installation or construction, execution of plans, and buy-off
Represent the voice of the plant during launch. Keep the plant informed of the latest launch status and request launch support resources according to priorities
Engage plant personnel in virtual builds and early build process of prototypes
Ensure operating system (SOS, QOS, DOS, COS, POS, MOS, EOS) requirements are implemented
Support the daily acceleration build targets until planned JPH is reached
Report plant launch status through GPDS integrator, 15 panel, NMP/LQOS assessment reports
You'll have...
High School diploma OR GED
5 years of production, launch and/or engineering experience in a leadership role.
Even better, you may have...
Bachelor’s/Master's Degree
Ten (10) years of operations experience in a project planning leadership role
Strong project planning mindset with execution of the plan
Five or more years working in the automotive industry
Demonstrated success interfacing with executive leadership, plant hourly (including UAW committee), salaried personnel, along with both plant and executive leadership personnel
Validated experience with union negotiations
Knowledgeable in the use of data for decision making
Strong leadership, team building, communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills
Demonstrated success teaching and mentoring teams
Validated success resolving complex and/or diverse problems
A history of working well under pressure and able to spearhead crisis management
Six Sigma Blackbelt
