Actalent Controls Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan
SIEMENS CONTROLS ENGINEER
Description:
DAY TO DAY:
Candidate will be responsible for primarily working inside the Siemens PLC software working on projects for Ford Advance Engineering Candidate will be taking hardware design drawings that are in allen bradley and converting them into Siemens software PLC. They will be working on programming, troubleshooting, and debugging the equipment before following it to the install at the Ford plant.
The current standards that the designs are in are from 2020/2021 so they will need to convert this to current standard and they will be working within TIA Portal software. Candidate will be working on various equipment but will all be related to automation such as powertrain, conveyor and tooling. They will also be working with the hardware team in collaboration to make sure the final installation is correct.
HOURS:
40-45 hours per week
TRAVEL:
15% they will be in the office primarily as the project is still being designed. Once it is complete they will likely go to the Ford Dearborn plant

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
-Controls Engineering - Candidate must have experience working within the PLC side doing programming, troubleshooting, debugging
-Siemens PLC- candidate will need to understand how to program, troubleshoot debug within TIA Portal
-Automation Manufacturing-Candidate must come from an automation integration manufacturing background as they will be working on this project from scratch
-Communication-Candidate must be able to communicate with internal/external
-Microsoft Office- candidate must be able to utilize microsoft office for various tasks
NICE TO HAVES:
-Ford (this project is tied to ford advanced engineering)
-Hardware Design (candidate will be converting rockwell drawings to siemens)
