COMPENSATION
The current minimum salary is $22.184178 per hour for a 40-hour week increasing to
$31.691683 per hour in the sixth year of service. This rate is subject to change as per
the Sheet Metal Air Rail Transportation (SMART) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
1st Year of Service – $22.184178 hourly
2nd Year of Service – $23.768762 hourly
3rd Year of Service – $25.353346 hourly
4th Year of Service – $26.937931 hourly
5th Year of Service – $28.522515 hourly
6th Year of Service – $31.691683 hourly
RESPONSIBILITIES
Staten Island Railway Coach Cleaners, under supervision, are responsible for cleaning all aspects of revenue service train cars, inclusive of, but not limited to, power washing exterior cars, mopping, chewing gum removal, sweeping, treating stains, and rinsing floor.
Coach Cleaners must be vigilant in their daily duties to ensure graffiti and unauthorized advertisements are not present.
Some of the physical activities performed by Staten Island Railway Coach Cleaners and environmental conditions experienced are working in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds and carry/maintain tools throughout the shift.
Staten Island Railway Coach Cleaners may be required to work various shifts including nights, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
