CINEMATOGRAPHER

As a seasoned Cinematographer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in elevating the quality of our video content. With a focus on precision and artistry, you will contribute to capturing the extraordinary moments of our space exploration and satellite connectivity services. This is a hands-on role where you will be actively involved in setting up lights, planning shots and executing on a creative vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for cinematography to enhance the overall quality of SpaceX's video content, particularly for major missions and services.

  • Lead cinematography efforts for major space missions, ensuring a high level of visual storytelling and technical excellence.

  • Film and document critical aspects of space missions, utilizing your expertise to bring a higher level of artistic and technical proficiency.

  • Showcase the transformative impact of Starlink's capability to connect people all around the world through visually compelling and professional content.

  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of camera equipment, ensuring optimal functionality to meet the highest standards for major missions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, communications team members, and other internal stakeholders, as well as external partners, to capture a diverse portfolio of content and elevate the overall production value.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 4+ years of experience in cinematography, photography, film production, or visual arts.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working for global clients and brands.

  • FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107).

  • Bachelor's degree in cinematography or film production.

  • 10+ years of demonstrated expertise as a cinematographer, showcasing a portfolio that reflects a commitment to excellence.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, implementing best practices to enhance the quality of our photo and video content.

  • Proficient in operating professional camera and lighting equipment to achieve the highest standards in visual quality.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to articulate and implement a vision for elevating video quality.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Please provide examples of prior work with your application.

  • Must be willing to work some weekends to support launch operations and critical project timelines.

  • Ability to travel for 1-2 weeks every month.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Cinematographer/Level II: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Exempt employees are eligible for 5 days of sick leave per year.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
