PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This positions primary responsibilities will include but not limited to; maintenance, troubleshooting, and
mechanical repairs, to include cutting, welding, and fabrication. This position will require the candidate to effectively diagnose and make mechanical repairs to various types of conveyors, feeders, hydraulic systems, pumps, chutes, bins, hoppers, dryers, mixers, slats, silos and other production components used in an asphalt facility, with limited supervision. Candidate will also be expected to review lubrication reports and service records, as well as perform oil, lube and filter service on all assigned equipment as directed. This position will report directly to the Plant Supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Provides assistance in equipment inspections and identifies conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc.) and monitors performance as directed;
Reports plant and/or equipment conditions to appropriate personnel as required;
Assists plant personnel with repair and maintenance;
Analyzes malfunctions and repairs and rebuilds conveyors and equipment;
Examines parts for damage or excessive wear;
Welds broken parts and structural members and other items as necessary using stick welding processes;
Diagnose problems and perform mechanical repair;
Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, and failure analysis;
Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other Company policies, procedures and requirements;
Maintains good housekeeping practices on equipment;
Candidates must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment, exposed to weather elements, some noise; must have ability to work independently and problem-solve while working alone or as part of a team;
Must be willing to work flexible hours including some weekends and must be punctual in adhering to established start times; and
Perform other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have at least 3 years experience;
Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check;
Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical;
Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document;
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times;
Report to work at the designated start time;
Be able to work long hours when required;
Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook;
Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required;
Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record;
Be at least age 18 years of age;
High school graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience (preferred); and
Great attention to detail and have a high stress tolerance.
