Stanford Online High School is also the new home of Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies (SPCS) , which provides a diverse array of academic enrichment programs that take place mostly in the summer but also throughout the academic year. Held, primarily online, SPCS programs serve intellectually curious pre-college students from around the world.

The Senior Academic Technology Implementation Specialist will facilitate the integration of technology into teaching and learning as well as design solutions for information systems that improve work-flow, production, efficiency and effectiveness for academic operations.

Please note that the Stanford Online High School and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offices are located at theStanford Redwood City Campus, however currently, all staff are required to temporarily work from home, due to the county health & safety restrictions.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Translate academic business processes into system requirements and/or development of systems solutions. Provide configuration support for key organizational systems like Student Information System and LMS and support for users from internal departments using these systems.

  • Assist with providing departmental leadership for using technology in teaching, learning, and community building. Oversee or provide assistance in the direct integration of technology into course curricula, extra-curricular or co curricular learning, and/or research Projects. Ensure that all new tools are tightly integrated into Online High School’s asynchronous and synchronous educational platforms.

  • Work with Stanford departments such as Risk Management, Accessibility Office, Privacy Office, General Counsel, and University Human Resources to identify legal or privacy related policies that apply to technology tools used by Online High School instructors, students and staff. Assist the Director of IT and OHS managers in ensuring that technology tools used by instructors, students, and staff comply with all related Stanford policies.

  • Provide outreach and advocacy within and across departments for effective uses of educational technology. After performing applicable research prior to selection and implementation of a new instructional tool, advocate effectively and appropriately for the piloting, implementation, and use of the new tool, and monitor the usage of the new tool by instructors and students to determine effectiveness.

  • Liaise with external vendors or partners in support of business systems, which may include system development, implementation and/or operations.

  • Lead the development of resources, seminars, courses, or workshops to disseminate information about uses of technology.

  • Stay abreast of educational technology research and participate in academic conferences.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree plus four years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Ability to define and solve logical problems for technical applications.

  • Demonstrated expertise with instructional design methodologies, pedagogical issues and best practices for classroom, online and hybrid learning.

  • Excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully to build strong working relationships with a diverse audience of faculty, staff, students and colleagues of diverse backgrounds and customs.

In addition, preferred requirements include:

  • Expertise in utilizing technology to enhance teaching and research.

  • Excellent time management and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks and use good judgment in providing services based on goal.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering technical training to a non-technical audience.

  • Expert knowledge of learning management systems and various classroom and online learning technologies.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.

  • Occasionally stand/walk, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.

  • Rarely writing by hand, use a telephone.

  • Extended hours and weekends.
