Job Summary:

The IT Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible for capturing business requirements, facilitating the definition of process improvements, and/or selection of technology options, and overseeing the delivery of the solution. This role involves strategic planning, execution, and delivery of technology solutions that support Stanford’s goals. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of infrastructure applications and platforms, strong project management experience, and leadership skills. The IT BSA will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that infrastructure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The IT BSA will be the key interface to the Stanford stakeholders, and will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure Services.

This is a hybrid eligible position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Systems Analysis : Work with functions across all Stanford entities to lead the elicitation, gathering and analysis of business requirements.

  • Technical Oversight Provide technical guidance and direction to project teams, including infrastructure engineers and architects. Ensure technical solutions are feasible, scalable, and sustainable. Analyze complex technology solutions to determine fit to business needs.

  • Project Management : Lead and manage multiple infrastructure projects from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and budgets. Identify and manage dependencies, risks, and issues. Act rapidly and effectively to address risks and high-priority issues, and through appropriate escalation.

  • Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Documentation and Reporting : Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk management logs. Prepare and present regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Quality Assurance : Ensure that all infrastructure projects adhere to company standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance practices.

  • Team Leadership : Mentor and support project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; and 8+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience. Proven track record of successfully managing complex, large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Technical Skills : Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies, including cable plant management, networking, cellular, voice communications, audio visual, and security systems.

  • Project Management : Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., SmartSheet, ServiceNow PPM). Experience with budget management and resource planning. Thrives in the face of ambiguity. Successful in addressing and prioritizing multiple projects.

  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

  • Leadership : Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams and drive projects to successful completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with infrastructure technology in support of construction projects e.g., new buildings, renovations, demolitions

  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings and have a basic knowledge of construction

  • Management of programs within a higher education, or healthcare organization

  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.

The expected pay range for this position is $133,000 – 160,000 per annum.
