The Opportunity

Under the direction of the Head Men's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Recruiting Coordinator is critically involved in all aspects of program’s recruiting efforts, elite talent acquisition and operational tactical items. This is a fixed-term position with a contract date of 4/30/25.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Assistant to the Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator in the capacity as assistant camp director with an emphasis on the elite camp organization. (25%) o Hiring staff o Coordination with facilities and human resources o Budget oversight o Provide oversight of elite camp and identification of top academic prospects

  • Overseeing the admission of potential student athletes to Stanford University, which includes coordinating discussions with high school counselors about class schedules, conducting transcript evaluations for NCAA eligibility, and managing the admissions process for Stanford University. (50%)

  • Comanaging the transcript recovery process for all prospective student athletes using staff members, database, and high school coaches and counselors.

  • Managing all recruiting prospects’ personal information using a database to create and design face sheets for each prospect and family member(s) for official and unofficial visits.

  • Managing the check-in process for recruiting visits on game days, ensuring compliance with ticket and name tag distribution.

  • Managing staff communication with prospects and their families through calls, texts, and mailers.

  • Assist with planning and execution of on-campus recruiting visits. This includes food service, cart and car rental, and check-in process. o Ensure NCAA and Conference compliance and complete required documentation for all program and coaching staff recruiting activities in liaison with Compliance Services. o Additional duties as assigned.

  • Providing technical support to coaches and student-athletes for practice and game preparation, including attending meetings, practice, and competitions. (15%)

  • Assist Director of Basketball Operations with additional duties as assigned. (10%)

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum 3 years’ experience working on projects related to basketball operations for a Division I program or other comparable levels; a demonstrated working knowledge of the correct application of NCAA regulations; strong commitment to the academic goals of the University; and excellent organizational, communication, and public relations skills.

DAPER’s Integrity:

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program, recreation and wellness department, and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that your involvement with DAPER activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations.

The expected pay range for this position is $69,100-82,600 per annum.
