The Human Resources Department of the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks an Assistant Director, Talent & Engagement, to support the evolution of our talent management approach. Reporting to the Principal Talent Strategist, you will support the operations behind a world-class academic institution, providing your HR intelligence to influence and shape our workplace culture. Our staff supports an amazing cadre of faculty and graduate students, delivering a wide array of academic and non-academic services that require nimble HR support.

Given the unprecedented shift in employee expectations regarding workplace equity and flexibility, we are looking for a highly organized, empathetic, and collaborative HR professional who can bring their subject matter expertise to elevate the employee work experience in an evolving hybrid work environment.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • In partnership with the Principal Talent Strategist, will support the development and alignment of talent management processes; this includes planning, execution, and evaluation of talent development programs, project managing existing processes (i..e, onboarding) and advancing organizational development and readiness (e.g., leadership and staff development, pipeline and succession planning).

  • In collaboration with university functional partners, organize and support data insight efforts including administering engagement and culture surveys and leveraging data (dashboards) to deliver institutional insights.

  • In partnership with the Executive Director of Human Resources, connect with, curate, and communicate the GSB staff experience. This includes publishing the monthly HR Newsletter, branding employee development programs, and tailoring university-led programs and communications (goals, performance, and recognition) to the GSB staff community.

  • Support the HR team’s advocacy for an inclusive and consistent experience for everyone working at the GSB—design methods for planned and spontaneous connections.

  • Act as point of contact for related university initiatives and support organizational change initiatives through development programs, facilitating workshops, and utilizing metrics to measure effectiveness. Maintain detailed project plans and process documents for all talent development initiatives. Coordinate with external and internal resources to ensure timely delivery of programs and services.

  • Lead by example in designing success in this role and exhibiting flexibility and resilience in responding to new or transitional demands.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and five years relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Specialized expertise in employee learning and communications.

  • Strong planner, program designer and project manager.

  • Affinity and passion for community building and inclusion.

  • Demonstrated presentation and group facilitation skills.

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills.

  • Ability to visualize complicated topics/data into clear and concise recommendations.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with utilizing technology and systems to deliver insights and produce content.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

The expected pay range for this position is $95,000 - $141,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
