The Assistant Coach for Softball will assist the Head Coach with recruiting, coaching, and developing a championship caliber team. The assistant coach is responsible for operating within the rules of the ACC Conference and NCAA, as well as all institutional policies. This is a one-year fixed term position.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Assist with all aspects of game plan preparation, practice organization, and off-season training programs with an emphasis on the pitching staff.

  • Assist with identifying and recruiting top student-athletes to compete at Stanford within the context of applicable NCAA regulations and University admissions expectations.

  • Assist with leadership and instruction in personal and athletic development of student-athletes, including overall team management in areas such as academic, disciplinary, and personal matters when appropriate.

  • Participate in overall DAPER education and activities, such as regular coaches’ meetings and compliance education sessions.

  • Participate in alumni relations, fundraising activities, and other program communication and relationship-management as appropriate.

  • Assist with summer camps and clinics.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Bachelor’s degree and three years of coaching experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Ability to understand and comply with all rules and regulations of the Stanford University, ACC Conference and NCAA.

  • Computer literacy with common office applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with a variety of student-athletes, staff and coaches in the Department of Athletics, the University, and the community.

DAPER’s Integrity:

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that his/her/their involvement with Athletics Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and Pac-12 rules and regulations.

The expected pay range for this position is $115,000-$125,000 per annum.
