Join our Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team and you'll directly support and promote our brand and reputation. Through marketing communications, public relations and corporate communications, digital channels, and internal communications, you'll provide a wide range of marketing and communications services to help EY reach internal and external audiences. These audiences include current and future clients, our current and future employees, alumni, regulators, the media, and the communities within which we operate.

The opportunity

EY’s strategic positioning on key policy issues is a critical element of our internal and external communications platform, influencing how our clients view us, how the firm engages with our stakeholders (including policymakers, regulators, and trade associations) and how our people deliver exceptional client service. As the Marketing Manager for policy and audit quality matters, you will work closely with Americas Assurance, Professional Practice, and the Office of Public Policy to ensure that we go-to-market with a clear and integrated voice, and that we are informing and engaging our professionals on the issues that are relevant to them and their clients.

This is an outstanding role for a content marketer who has strong organizational skills and can translate complex business and public policy information into clear and impactful messaging and go-to-market programs. You will also team with subject matter experts to educate and enable EY professionals on relevant topics.

Your key responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with the subject matter experts in the Office of Public Policy and the Assurance Practice to activate thought leadership in the market, and build awareness of the firm's annual US audit quality report. This scope of work will cover a range of topics including audit quality, accounting standards, cyber, data privacy, regulation of emerging technologies, immigration policy, financial inclusion and more. You will also coordinate communication around the PCAOB inspection process, support key internal awareness building efforts focused on audit quality, and create content for EY professionals to leverage with boards and other committees.

The Marketing Manager will partner in developing content for media relations, ey.com and other external channels and consistently seek fresh approaches to delivering content and communicating EY's views on policy issues. You will provide speaker support for senior leaders participating in conferences, EY webcasts and other live and recorded events.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal project stakeholders, manage project stakeholders' expectations and build trust with journalists and other media outlets

  • Adept at creating strategic, targeted, and impactful go-to-market initiatives

  • Possess relevant market insight respective to your function and a comfort level working across service lines, industries, function areas and client groups

  • Strong understanding of environmental factors affecting the firm, the practice, and our markets

  • Ability to participate in market research projects

  • Adept at coordinating the creation of area marketing collateral and brochures to make certain they are appropriately leveraged and delivered

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Seven-plus years of experience

  • Bachelor's degree with a marketing or communications major or equivalent experience; Accounting and/or Public Policy experience is a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening and interpretation skills

  • Must be able to articulate complex subject matter in a straightforward, concise, and easily digestible manner for broad audiences

  • Possesses poise and confidence to professionally interact with all levels of leadership

  • Ability to oversee significant portions of major or highly complex projects

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Ability to team and collaborate with practice, industry, and other firm leaders to develop market-facing initiatives that drive the firm's strategy

  • Ability to work independently on marketing initiatives

  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills including the development of others

  • Ability to work with anchor service line or industry representative to tailor directed thought leadership and serve as a coordinator for its production
