Atec, Inc. Mechanical Assembler in Stafford, Texas

SUMMARY

Assemble mechanical devices and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Read and understand work orders, follow production drawing, and sample assemblies, or receive verbal

instructions regarding duties to be performed.

Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.

Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure

parts in place.

Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets

Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches to assemblies.

Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding,

curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.

Operate machines that press, mark, cut, and drill component parts

Adjust or trim material from parts to achieve specified dimensional characteristics

Assist in problem solving regarding component installation and/or discrepant materials.

Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products.

Temporary assignment to various Atec facilities may be required as needed to support Atec operations.

Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work

environment.

Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization

(AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

AS9100/ISO SPECIFIC DUTIES

Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.

Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.

Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.

Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.

Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.

Cooperate with Auditors.

Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED, or one (1) years of experience and/or training; or combination of education

and experience.

Positive Performance Review (applies to internal personnel changes for current Atec, Inc. & subsidiary

location employees).

Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings for manufacturing.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

fractions, and decimals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and occasionally lift

up to 25 pounds.

Good eyesight; by lenses if necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Extended work hours and travel may occasionally be required.
