PULASKI COUNTY TOURISM BUREAU Administrative Assistant (Admin Assistant) in ST ROBERT, Missouri

ThePulaski County Tourism Bureau is seeking an Administrative Assistant.Applicants must have the following qualities: strong computer skills, excellent work ethic, initiative, organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for working with the public.

Key responsibilities include daily operations of the Visitors Center,bookkeeping, administrative duties, and assisting with welcomingvisitors. The ideal candidate will be eager to assist the public withdirections and share ideas for activities in Pulaski County andthroughout Missouri. This role requires the ability to locateinformation using available resources, the internet, brochure inventory,and personal knowledge. Responsibilities also include operating thecash register and handling transactions.

The position demands strong computer skills related to bookkeeping,data entry, and the creation, manipulation, and mailing of mergedocuments. This position will support the Bureau's marketinginitiatives, which involve writing articles, taking photographs, andproducing videos. Additional administrative duties and tasks will beassigned as needed.

Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Effective communication with tourists and local business partners, both in person and over the phone.

  • Proficient in operating computer systems, with extensive experienceusing Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher. Ability to learnindustry-specific software quickly.

  • Knowledgeable in QuickBooks Online.

  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and processes.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Attentive to the needs of the Visitors Center, including its buildings and grounds.

  • Capable of multitasking and transitioning between different assignments while working with tourists.

  • Assist with various projects as needed.

  • Proficient in operating the registration system and handling cash transactions.

  • Maintain a clean driving record.

  • Physically capable of climbing stairs and lifting up to 25 pounds.

  • Able to work effectively both in a team and independently.

  • Punctual and flexible in working assigned shifts.

Primary Shift: Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.Saturday and Sundays 9 am-3 pm during high travel season. Flexibleschedule to meet needs of organization. 40 hour work week.

Visitor Center Hours :

Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm

Saturday/Sunday 9 am-3 pm (1 employee on duty) May-September.
