As an Associate Counselor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the recovery journey of our clients by providing comprehensive support services under the guidance of experienced Qualified Addiction Professionals.

In this role, you will assist individuals in accordance with their treatment plans, helping them improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. You will participate in screening and assessment processes, develop individualized treatment plans, facilitate group counseling sessions, and provide invaluable support throughout the transition process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders in accordance with their treatment plans to improve their daily living and working abilities

  • Participate in screening and assessment processes under the supervision of licensed counselors or therapists

  • Develop individualized treatment plans for clients following regulatory guidelines

  • Complete all documentation and correspondence within designated timeframes

  • Participate in clinical staffing and team meetings, providing feedback on cases

  • Adhere to the direct service provision model

  • Document services provided according to standards, ensuring timely entry and appropriate formatting

  • Ensure treatment plans, updates, and discharge summaries are reviewed and co-signed by a Qualified Addiction Professional

  • Address any file or charting deficiencies promptly

  • Assist clients through the transition process and complete final correspondence

  • Complete annual training requirements, totaling 36 hours every 2 years

  • Maintain positive professional relationships with referral sources, clients, and coworkers, adhering to ethical codes and agency policies

  • Handle crisis situations as they occur, notifying supervisors when required

  • Facilitate group counseling, education sessions, family conferences, and individual sessions focused on recovery, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate interest in the company's long-term and short-term goals and objectives

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and management

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • A trainee that meets the requirements for registration, supervision, and professional development as set forth by either:

  • The Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc.

  • The appropriate board of professional registration with the Department of Economic Development for licensure as a psychologist, professional counselor, or social worker

Additional Qualifications:

  • Willing to become licensed in additional states, other than the state currently licensed in

  • Basic knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods, principles, and techniques related to mental health and substance use disorder treatment

  • Working knowledge of therapeutic theories and techniques, individual differences, and scientific methods of understanding and influencing human behavior

  • Registration, supervision, and professional development requirements as set forth by the Missouri Credentialing Board, Inc.

  • Registration, supervision, and professional development requirements as set forth by the appropriate board of professional registration with the Department of Economic Development for licensure as a psychologist, professional counselor, or social worker
