Assistant Director of the Gustavus Fund Advancement Description JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate and implement outreach programs aimed at increasing giving and participation in the Gustavus Fund, affinity-based restricted giving, and all other related fundraising efforts within the Office of Advancement - building a culture of philanthropy among our alumni, alumni class officers, and current students. Personally engage and solicit LYBUNT/SYBUNT donors throughout the year as directed through the written and spoken word. Manage and coordinate digital outreach efforts across all active channels, primarily through the energy and talent of student employees and volunteers, guide the development and growth of the Student Philanthropy Program and the Senior Class Gift Program. Collaborate on overall solicitation strategies for the Gustavus Fund, affinity-giving efforts, golf tournaments, reunion giving initiatives, and special giving day initiatives. Participate as an active and engaged member of the Gustavus Advancement Team. Employment Type: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Exempt (Salaried), Benefits-Eligible MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: As Assistant Director of the Gustavus Fund, work collaboratively across all efforts to support the success - measured in dollars and donors - of the Gustavus Fund and all aspects of current restricted affinity-based giving. Meeting month by month goals, personally and individually contact - via phone, email, and other digital outreach - LYBUNT and SYBUNT donors to the College, as directed, to solicit continued and increased giving. Manage and direct the digital outreach and solicitation efforts in support of the Gustavus Fund and current giving, including the hiring and management of student engagement partners, both paid and unpaid. Meet weekly and semester goals for digital engagement and provide on-site coaching for student partners. Apply problem-solving skills with regard to donor relations, software management, information management, and student engagement. Conduct analysis of and measure program effectiveness. Manage all aspects of the Senior Class Legacy Gift efforts and advance the Student Philanthropy Program. Recruit and solicit SCL gift committee members. Achieve annual SCL goals as set by Advancement leadership. Coordinate with other campus offices as needed. Organize and guide student philanthropy activities to foster and strengthen a culture of philanthropy and gratitude among students on campus. Recruit, educate, train, and mentor student leaders as it relates to Gustavus philanthropy. Manage Gustavus Fund data analysis. Work collaboratively with the Director of the Gustavus Fund to develop consistent messaging throughout donor segments, integrating a multi-channel approach for online, direct mail, digital engagement, texting, and telephone solicitation efforts. Integrating with outside vendors as available. List generation and data reporting management required. Support all Gustavus Fund giving initiatives, including the annual Give to Gustavus Day, May Day Give Day, and all special giving days in general. Collaborate with reunion giving team colleagues to strategically solicit key reunion classes and support class outreach. Creatively and meaningfully steward donors of the college. Participate in appropriate professional organizations as able. All other duties as assigned, while contributing to a positive and pleasant work environment. Prerequisites MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in related field. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Experience leading a group and project management. Ability to collaborate with students, alumni, and other departments on campus. Computer literacy and knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent skills in analysis, organization, and planning. Understanding of liberal arts education and enthusiasm for non-profit advocacy. Participation in frequent evening and weekend activities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Non-profit or service work experience. Leadership positions held within an organization. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: This position will frequently work nights and weekends for a portion of a 40-hour work week.
