WATTS Extruder Operator in St Pauls, North Carolina

As the Extruder Operator working the first shift, you will form and produce piping in varying diameters and lengths using raw plastic materials through specialty extrusion equipment. Under the guidance of the Director of Operations, you will ensure that production runs efficiently .

You Will:

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and perform minor maintenance on extrusion machines to meet production requirements.

  • Inspect machines and products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

  • Enter and retrieve product data using computer systems.

  • Recommend improvements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.

  • Ensure materials meet specifications and adjust controls to maintain optimal flow and quality.

  • Assist with line setups, startups, and troubleshooting to maintain smooth production.

  • Request and oversee modifications or repairs to extrusion lines and tooling.

  • Follow work orders to produce products according to specifications.

  • Maintain accurate production records and respond to machine alarms.

  • Perform periodic quality checks and verify correct materials and colors.

You Have:

  • 2+ year experience as a machine operator, with plastics extrusion or related experience .

  • Previous forklift experience is helpful.

  • Knowledge of production equipment, power tools, and hand tools.

  • Familiarity with standard concepts , practices, and procedures within a manufacturing environment.

  • Mathematical and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and adjust machinery effectively .

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
