Element Materials Technology Test Technician in St. Paul, Minnesota
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a test technician to evaluate customer products by utilizing standard methods (ASTM, ANSI, ISO, etc), variations of known methods as well as custom requests. Test technicians work closely with coordinators/managers and customers to test a variety of products from the sleep system market including consumer, hospitality, military and medical.
Responsibilities
Process incoming samples (un-package and place samples in holding areas)
Perform routine and custom performance and regulatory testing in accordance with relevant industry or customer specifications
Conducts tests and keep accurate records in standardized forms
Testing includes durability, performance and flammability evaluations
Must comply with safety rules, company policies, and procedures
Skills / Qualifications
Mechanical / electronics aptitude a plus
Strong problem solving skills, and the ability to deal with a variety of challenges in unique situations
Works well with colleagues and customers
Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Physical Demands:
Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate)
Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and >50 lbs. on occasion
Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
