Description
The Staffing Coordinator position is a 1.0 FTE. Monday-Friday hours ranging from: 7:00am – 3:30pm. Located at our St. Paul Clinic: 200 University Ave E. Benefit eligible.
This position exists to develop nursing unit and respiratory care staff schedules and maintain daily staff coverage for patient care based on unit needs, to coordinate on-call and agency staff availability to match unit patient care needs, and to provide backup for the Administrative Assistant.
Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.
Compensation & Benefits Information
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $21.00 to $31.13, with a median wage of $25.94. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Core Responsibilities and Duties
Ensures nursing units and respiratory care are appropriately staffed.
Optimizes the use of personnel to meet patient care needs.
Meets projected inpatient nursing and respiratory care monthly staffing needs using computer schedule system.
Creates schedules for the inpatient nursing units and respiratory care staff using computer scheduling system.
Serves as primary timekeeper for the inpatient nursing units and respiratory care department on computerized time sheet system.
Ensuring that there is enough coverage on all nursing units and Respiratory Care with appropriate staff, if needed.
Produces, distributes, and maintains documents and records to ensure information flow within and between departments and outside organizations.
Files and updates documents and records.
Uses the Internet, GilletteNet, and other websites to locate information.
Accurately tracks and monitors information.
Provides customer service to staff, visitors, and others as needed.
Answer phones, route calls, take messages.
Professionally and courteously greet and assist visitors
Provide back-up support to others in the department.
Complete projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Vocational training or experience in secretarial, staffing/scheduling and data base computer skills
E-mail experience
Experience operating copy machines, fax machines, and multi-line telephone systems
Preferred
- Previous scheduling experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication skills both on the phone and in person, and the ability to get along well with people
Excellent customer service, organizational and coordination skills
Ability to work independently
Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Strong attention to detail
