WuXi AppTec Sample Receipt Coordinator in St. Paul, Minnesota

WuXi AppTec US-MN-St. Paul Job ID 2021-8956 Overview This position is responsible for processing samples for assigned tests in compliance with GLP, GMP, and ISO standards including test sample log in and accountability. Responsibilities * Provides operational support for Sample Preparation/Sample Receipt activities, including but not limited to media preparation, cleaning, equipment/materials staging, and use of aseptic technique. * Receives incoming samples and reviews them for integrity to ensure they are sufficient for testing. * Coordinates time and resources to ensure efficient processing of incoming projects. * Review projects to ensure paperwork is complete and accurate. * Serves as client point of contact for clarification and questions that arise. * Initiates and maintains chain of custody of samples. * Assists with training of new employees. * Maintains lab inventory, including sample organization and ordering of supplies as needed. * Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. * Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments. * Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel. * Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required. * Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals. * Performs job-specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. * Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices. * May be required to assist in other departments as needed. * May be required to work holidays and weekends. * May be required to work overtime. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience / Education * Associate's Degree or equivalent Bioscience experience * One year of experience in a laboratory environment, preferably GLP/GMP; two or more years preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: * Proficient oral and written communication skills * Need to be able to clearly speak, read, write and understand English * Proficient in Microsoft (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook) * Knowledge of general research laboratory procedures, aseptic technique, and GLP/GMP regulations Physical Requirements: * Must be able to work in a lab setting with exposure to animals, biohazards, and chemicals * Must be able to wear appropriate PPE * Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels * Ability to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time * Ability to crouch, bend, twist and reach * Ability to push/pull 50 lbs. occasionally * Clarity of vision * Ability to identify and distinguish colors * Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions and good manual dexterity * Ability to work in variable temperatures high to freezing An Equal Opportunity Employer.
