Overview
M Health Fairview Reference Laboratory is looking for an experienced phlebotomist to join our Mobile Care Team.
This is a fulltime, benefit eligible opportunity, 80 hours/2 weeks, to work the day shift from 4:00am – 12:30pm on Weekdays with the opportunity to pick up weekends and/or overtime. Locations include Transitional Care facilities, Memory Care facilities, and Assisted Care facilities within about 50miles radius of the metro area.

Responsibilities Job Description
The standard job responsibilities include:
Working with diverse populations within a healthcare environment, the LCT plays a meaningful role in providing quality, proficient and professional services in keeping with Fairview Values as they interact with our patients, families and co-workers.
The Mobile LCT performs laboratory specimen collection, as well as safe and secure specimen handling.
Responsible for accurately identifying patients, perform accurate and timely blood collection and entering correct information into the Laboratory Information System.
Caters to a diverse group of patients such as those in Transitional Care Units, Memory Care, and Assisted Living Facilities.
The Mobile LCT's attention to detail and accuracy are the foundation for our providing quality laboratory services. Working as an individual or team member, the Mobile LCT continuously works towards providing quality service improvement and optimum support to the department and team members in achieving Fairview's goals.
Following established guidelines to obtain specimens and perform procedures, prioritizing work to achieve optimal patient outcomes, information processing, maintaining a safe work environment, demonstrating ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Required
- At least 18 years of age
Education
Completion of a formal phlebotomy education program OR-
Completion of three months of full-time clinical phlebotomy and laboratory experience OR-
Enrollment in MLT or MLS program, including completion of a phlebotomy course.
Experience
- Successful customer service background within a diverse cultural setting
Additional Requirements : Must have access to reliable vehicle. If incumbent drives, must also have proof of valid current insurance, able to work flexible hours and at short notice. Knowledge of metro area and ability follow driving directions.
Preferred Experience
At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience and high level of expertise in phlebotomy, specifically utilizing straight needles for blood collections.
Experience working in an Assisted Living Facility.
Experience working as a Phlebotomist in an Acute Care setting.
Prior laboratory experience in a hospital or clinic setting in a similar capacity
Preferred License/Certification/Registration
- Phlebotomy Certification upon hire
