We are excited to introduce a leading role as the HRIS Analyst in preparation for the new Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF). This role will work alongside counterparts in the Department of Human Services with the intent to transfer the role to DCYF once it is established.

This position will serve as the Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst and will assist Human Resources Division staff and agency management with research and fiscal analysis of human resources/personnel data. Using technology, the position will analyze HR-related data to increase the effectiveness of HR processes and strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement, and make updates to the department’s existing HR Management tools and services;

  • Provide functional production support for HR applications, metrics, and reporting, integrating HRIS systems and reporting platforms;

  • Create and run recurring and ad hoc reports for internal and external customers;

  • Create and run audits to validate data;

  • Design and post reports using reporting platforms (e.g., Crystal Reports, OBIEE, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet, Power BI);

  • Design and maintain HR SharePoint sites and user permissions.

  • Develop, update, and maintain HR InfoLink sites using Tridion.

  • Provide business and technical support to Human Resources staff, consulting HR staff in the use of technology, applications, or software-based tools so that HR processes are current and efficient;

  • Work closely with IT to resolve systems related issues;

  • Work with vendors and IT to design and maintain interfaces;

  • Interpret and implement different laws, policies, labor agreements and plans, which directly impact labor relations and HRIS in the Department; and

  • Complete special projects and analysis as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of HRIS analysis experience supporting a HRIS system, managing projects and implementing project initiatives within a large organization (1000+ employees).

Experience should demonstrate:

  • Advanced skills in using the MS Office software suite sufficient to create and adapt spreadsheets and databases to informational needs and develop and modify complex word processing documents.

  • Skills in utilizing an HRIS in large organization, preferably PeopleSoft or similar HRIS.

  • Writing skills sufficient to develop business-oriented materials, memos and information that are concise and well-organized, while utilizing appropriate grammar, spelling and structure.

  • Ability to effectively address HRIS user needs and resolve user/system problems and communicate effectively.

*Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information technology or a related field may substitute for 1 year of advanced technical experience*

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong skills in data reporting and management using MS Access, OBIEE, Crystal Reports or similar database reporting software sufficient to create and modify complex management reports.

  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
